Possible Causes

Freezer not level, Copper refrigerant lines touching cabinet, Loose compressor mounting springs, Items on top of freezer vibrating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before bending any tubing or tightening hardware.

Steps to reduce vibration:

  • Level the unit: Use a level and adjust the front feet until the freezer is stable and does not rock when pushed.
  • Check surroundings: Remove items from the top of the freezer that may vibrate. Ensure the unit is not touching walls or cabinets.
  • Inspect tubing: At the rear, look for copper lines touching each other or the cabinet. Gently bend them apart slightly to create clearance, being careful not to kink the lines.
  • Compressor mounts: Verify the compressor mounting bolts or springs are secure but not overtightened. Tighten loose hardware as needed.
  • Add padding: Place thin foam or rubber pads under the front feet if the floor is uneven.

Tip: Have someone gently press on different areas of the cabinet while the noise occurs to pinpoint the source.
