Possible Causes
Ambient NTC sensor failure, Cabinet wall sensor failure, Sensor harness pinched or broken, Main control board sensor input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing any trim or control panels.
- Locate ambient/cabinet sensor: On many De Dietrich models, an additional NTC is located near the air intake or behind a small grille in the liner or control housing.
- Visual check: Inspect the sensor and its wiring for damage, moisture, or loose connectors. Ensure the sensor is not hanging loose away from its intended mounting point.
- Check for pinched wires: Look along the door hinge area and where the harness passes through the cabinet for crushed or cut insulation.
- Replace suspect sensor: If the sensor is cracked, corroded, or reading obviously wrong (for users with a multimeter), replace it with an OEM De Dietrich NTC sensor of the same specification.
- Reset and test: After reassembly, plug the freezer back in, clear the alarm via the control panel, and monitor temperature stability over 24 hours.
If AL06 persists with a new sensor, the main PCB may be defective and should be evaluated by a technician.
