Freezer displays AL08; door alarm may not behave correctly or interior light stays on.

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing trims or switch housings.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and is not warped. Look for items preventing full closure.
• Locate door switch: Some De Dietrich freezers use a mechanical plunger switch in the frame; others use a magnetic reed switch hidden in the cabinet with a magnet in the door.
• Test the switch: For a plunger switch, press it by hand with the door open and see if the interior light goes off. For a magnetic system, hold a strong magnet near the switch area and see if the alarm stops.
• Inspect wiring: Remove the switch (if accessible) and check for loose or corroded connectors. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
• Replace faulty switch: Install a compatible De Dietrich door switch or magnet assembly if the original is defective.
• Reset alarm: After reassembly, plug in the freezer and confirm that AL08 clears and the door alarm/light now operate normally.
