Possible Causes
Evaporator fan with tachometer feedback failure, Damaged fan harness, Faulty fan driver circuit on PCB, Obstruction in fan housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the fan or control board.
- Check for obstructions: Remove baskets and the internal rear panel. Ensure nothing is blocking the fan blades and that the shroud is correctly positioned.
- Inspect fan motor: Many De Dietrich fans have a feedback (tach) wire. Check the connector for corrosion or loose pins. Gently tug each wire to ensure it is secure.
- Replace fan if faulty: If the fan does not run when powered and wiring is intact, replace it with the correct De Dietrich evaporator fan motor with tach feedback.
- Check PCB connector: At the main board, reseat the fan connector. Look for burnt or cracked solder joints at the fan driver components.
- Test operation: Reassemble, restore power, and verify that the fan runs smoothly and AL11 clears.
