Possible Causes
Faulty temperature sensor reading too warm, Stuck compressor relay on main PCB, Incorrect thermostat calibration, Shorted sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or the control board.
- Confirm with thermometer: Place a thermometer inside to verify actual temperature. If it is far below the setpoint, regulation is faulty.
- Reset controls: Power off for 5 minutes, then restart and set to a higher (warmer) temperature. Observe if compressor cycles off after some time.
- Inspect sensor: Check the freezer NTC sensor for correct mounting and damage. A sensor not in proper contact with the liner or evaporator can misread temperature.
- Check control board relay: If the compressor never stops, the relay may be welded closed. Board replacement is usually required.
