Possible Causes
Defrost water not draining correctly, Blocked defrost drain channel, Cracked internal liner or drain tray, Excessive door gasket condensation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing panels. Mop up any standing water to prevent slipping.
- Identify source: Check if water is coming from the front (door area) or rear (drain tray area).
- Inspect defrost drain: Inside, remove baskets and the rear panel. Look for a small drain hole at the bottom of the evaporator tray. Clear any ice or debris using warm water and a soft pipe cleaner.
- Check rear drain tray: At the back, locate the plastic drain tray above the compressor. Ensure it is not cracked and is correctly positioned to catch water from the drain tube.
- Door gasket condensation: If water appears at the door edge, inspect the gasket for gaps and clean it. High humidity can cause some condensation; ensure the door is closing firmly.
