Possible Causes
Recent power outage, Door left open, Heavy warm food load added, Failed evaporator fan, Defrost system failure causing warm cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the door is closed and the area around the freezer is dry.
- 1. Check door and recent use: Confirm the door has not been left open and that a large quantity of warm food was not just added. If so, allow several hours for temperature to recover.
- 2. Silence alarm: Use the alarm mute button (if available) to silence the buzzer while troubleshooting.
- 3. Verify cooling: Listen for compressor and fan operation. If they are not running, investigate power, control board, and start components.
- 4. Inspect for frost buildup: Remove the rear interior panel to check for a heavily iced evaporator, indicating defrost failure.
- 5. Monitor temperature: Use a thermometer to track temperature over 12–24 hours. If it does not return to normal, further diagnosis of the cooling system is required.
