Freezer displays E2 and may run continuously or not cool correctly; temperature reading may be inaccurate.

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels. Wear cut-resistant gloves when working near sharp evaporator fins.

• 1. Access the evaporator compartment: Remove freezer drawers/shelves and the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator coil on Electrolux upright freezers.
• 2. Locate the evaporator sensor: The NTC is usually clipped to the evaporator tubing or mounted in a small plastic holder on the coil.
• 3. Inspect mounting and wiring: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil and not hanging loose. Check for ice damage, broken insulation, or chafed wires.
• 4. Test the sensor: With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to the expected NTC value at the measured temperature (consult service data; typically several kΩ at freezer temperatures). Replace the sensor if open, shorted, or out of range.
• 5. Check harness continuity: Verify continuity from the sensor connector to the main control board. Repair any broken or corroded wires.
• 6. Replace control board if necessary: If sensor and wiring are good but E2 remains, replace the main control board. After replacement, clear the error by unplugging for 5 minutes and reapplying power.
