Possible Causes
Failed LED light module, Open circuit in light wiring, Faulty light driver on main control PCB, Door switch not signaling correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing light covers or handling wiring.
Steps to address E13:
- 1. Check door switch: Confirm that the door switch operates correctly (see E6). If the switch is faulty, replace it first.
- 2. Access light module: Remove the light lens or cover inside the freezer (usually clipped or held by small screws) to expose the LED module.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Check the connector to the LED module for looseness or corrosion. Reseat the connector.
- 4. Test LED module: If possible, test the LED module with a suitable low-voltage power source or continuity tester (depending on design). If visibly burned or cracked, replace it.
- 5. Replace LED module: Install a new LED light module compatible with your Essentials model. Ensure it is firmly seated and the cover is reinstalled.
Note: If the LED and door switch are good but E13 persists, the light driver circuit on the main control PCB may be defective and require professional replacement.
