Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the compressor compartment or control board.
Steps to address E15:
- 1. Confirm compressor is off: With the unit plugged in and calling for cooling, listen and feel for compressor vibration. If silent and cool to the touch, it is not running.
- 2. Check start device: Inspect the compressor start relay and overload (see E5). If they are intact and test good, focus on the control side.
- 3. Inspect wiring: Trace the wires from the main control PCB to the compressor start device. Look for breaks, burns, or loose connectors.
- 4. Inspect main control PCB: Remove the control cover and look for a small relay labeled for the compressor. Check for burn marks or cracked solder joints around it.
- 5. Replace control board: If the relay is not energizing and there is visible damage, replace the main control PCB. Ensure all connectors are transferred correctly.
Professional note: If you are not experienced with electrical diagnostics, have a technician confirm the fault before replacing expensive boards.
