How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or internal inspection.
Steps to reduce run time:
- 1. Check ambient conditions: Ensure the freezer is not placed next to ovens, radiators, or in direct sunlight. High ambient temperatures increase run time.
- 2. Inspect door gasket: Perform the paper test around the door (see E18). Replace the door gasket if it does not seal properly.
- 3. Clean condenser: Vacuum dust from condenser coils and ensure good airflow around the unit.
- 4. Verify temperature setting: Set to the manufacturer-recommended level, not maximum cold.
- 5. Check frost pattern: Inspect the evaporator coil. Heavy ice indicates defrost issues; partial frost suggests sealed-system problems requiring a technician.
Note: Some running is normal, but if the compressor never cycles off and temperatures are still high, professional diagnosis is recommended.
