Possible Causes
Door left open or not sealing, Excessive warm food load, Evaporator fan not running, Condenser coils clogged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This alarm usually does not require immediate disconnection from mains, but if you need to move the unit or access wiring, unplug the freezer first.
- Check the door: Ensure the door is fully closed and the gasket is not obstructed by food packages. Inspect the Fagor door gasket for tears, warping, or debris. Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Check recent loading: If you recently added a large quantity of unfrozen food, the temperature will rise temporarily. Reduce the load if the shelves are overpacked and allow 12–24 hours for temperature to stabilize.
- Verify internal airflow: Make sure air vents inside the Fagor freezer cabinet are not blocked by boxes or bags. Leave a few centimeters of space around vents.
- Clean condenser: Pull the unit away from the wall, unplug it, and vacuum the condenser coils and grille (usually at the rear or bottom). Dust buildup can cause poor cooling and trigger AL01.
- Check evaporator fan operation: With the door open, press and hold the door switch (if accessible) to see if the internal fan starts. If the fan does not run after a few minutes of compressor operation, the fan motor or control board may be faulty and should be tested or replaced by a technician.
- Reset alarm: Most Fagor freezers allow you to silence the alarm by pressing the alarm or set button. If the temperature returns to normal (around -18°C) and the alarm stops reappearing, no further action is needed.
