Possible Causes
Defective NTC temperature sensor, Broken or shorted sensor wiring harness, Oxidized connector at control board, Faulty electronic control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer from the mains before removing any panels or touching wiring.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect. If AL02 clears temporarily but returns, the sensor circuit is likely faulty.
- Locate the cabinet sensor: On many Fagor freezers, the NTC sensor is behind an interior plastic cover on the rear or side wall. Remove the cover carefully using a screwdriver.
- Inspect wiring: Check the sensor leads for cuts, pinches, or signs of moisture ingress. Ensure the connector is firmly seated at both the sensor and the control board (usually behind the top or rear panel).
- Basic resistance check (for skilled users): With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature, most NTC sensors read between 5–20 kΩ. An open circuit (infinite) or 0 Ω indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace if faulty: If readings are abnormal, replace the Fagor cabinet NTC temperature sensor with an OEM part. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it away from moving parts or sharp edges.
- Control board check: If a known-good sensor still triggers AL02, the electronic control module may be defective and should be diagnosed and replaced by a qualified technician.
