Possible Causes
Misreading temperature sensor, Poor sensor contact with evaporator, Control board calibration fault, Partial refrigerant loss causing high temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing panels or touching internal components.
- Check door and load: Ensure the door is closing properly and the freezer is not overloaded. Allow several hours after large food loads.
- Verify sensor placement: Access the evaporator and confirm the Fagor sensor is correctly clipped to the coil or in its designated well. Reattach if loose.
- Inspect for frost pattern: A partial frost pattern (ice only on part of the evaporator) may indicate a sealed system issue, which requires professional service.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the sensor appears damaged or gives inconsistent readings, replace it with an OEM Fagor NTC sensor.
- Control board: If temperature is actually correct but E5 persists, the control board may be misreading the sensor and should be replaced.
