Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted keypad, Moisture ingress in control panel, Damaged display PCB, Loose ribbon cable between UI and main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel or display housing.
- Dry the panel: If condensation or a spill occurred, leave the freezer unplugged with the door open for several hours to dry the control area.
- Inspect keypad: Remove the Fagor control panel trim and check for signs of moisture, corrosion, or physical damage to the keypad.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the ribbon cable between the user interface and main control board is fully seated and not damaged.
- Replace UI board: If buttons remain unresponsive or E8 persists, replace the user interface/display PCB with the correct Fagor part.
- Main board check: If a new UI does not resolve the issue, the main control board may also need replacement.
