Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain tube, Cracked drain pan, Excessive frost due to door gasket leak, Drain tube frozen in cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer and avoid slipping on water around the appliance.
- Locate leak source: Check inside the Fagor freezer for ice buildup at the bottom or under drawers, indicating a blocked drain.
- Clear internal drain: Remove the rear inner panel, locate the drain hole beneath the evaporator, and flush with hot (not boiling) water using a turkey baster or syringe until water flows freely.
- Check external drain tube and pan: From the rear, inspect the drain tube leading to the drip pan above the compressor. Clear any debris and ensure the pan is not cracked or overflowing.
- Inspect door gasket: Replace a damaged gasket to reduce excess frost and defrost water.
