Freezer not cooling at all – interior warm, compressor not running, lights may be on.

Safety First: Unplug the freezer before removing the rear access panel or touching any electrical components.

• Step 1 – Verify power: Confirm the outlet has power and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Check that the power cord is fully seated.
• Step 2 – Listen for compressor: With the unit plugged in, listen at the back. If you hear no humming or clicking, the compressor may not be getting power.
• Step 3 – Check temperature control: On mechanical-dial models, turn the thermostat from OFF to the coldest setting and listen for a click. If no click and no operation, test and replace the thermostat.
• Step 4 – Inspect start relay and overload: Remove the rear lower panel, pull off the start device from the compressor, and inspect for burns or rattling. Replace the start relay/overload assembly if suspect.
• Step 5 – Test control board output: On electronic models, verify the board is sending power to the compressor circuit (requires a meter and live-voltage testing; only for trained persons). Replace the control board if it fails to energize the compressor with a valid cooling demand.
