Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice blocking fan blade, Broken fan wiring harness, Defective control board fan output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing interior panels or touching the fan.
- Check fan operation: Open the door and press the door switch. You should hear the evaporator fan running. If not, proceed with inspection.
- Access fan: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator fan assembly.
- Inspect for ice or obstructions: Clear any ice buildup or foreign objects blocking the fan blade. Do not force the blade if it is frozen; allow ice to melt.
- Test fan motor: Spin the blade by hand; it should move freely. Check for continuity across the motor leads. Replace the fan motor if open or seized.
- Verify wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
