Possible Causes
Recent power outage, Loose power cord connection, Tripped household circuit breaker, Faulty wall outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not use extension cords or power strips with freezers. Always plug directly into a grounded wall outlet.
- Verify power is stable: Check that other appliances or lights on the same circuit are working. Reset any tripped breakers in your electrical panel.
- Check the power cord: Ensure the GE Profile freezer's power cord is fully inserted into the outlet and not damaged or pinched behind the unit.
- Clear the PF indicator: Press and hold the Alarm Reset or Set button (varies by model) for 3–5 seconds to clear the PF message.
- Monitor temperature: Allow 12–24 hours for the freezer to return to set temperature. Avoid opening the door frequently while it recovers.
- Test the outlet: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the same outlet to confirm it is delivering power. If the outlet is dead or intermittent, contact an electrician.
