• Adjust setpoint: Raise the temperature setting a few degrees and monitor for 24 hours.
• Check thermistor placement: Ensure the thermistor is not touching the evaporator coil or buried in ice, which can cause false warm readings.
• Power reset: Unplug the freezer for 2 minutes, then restore power to reset the control.
• Sensor test (advanced): Measure thermistor resistance and compare to GE specifications. Replace if out of range.
• Control board replacement: If the compressor runs excessively despite correct sensor readings, the main control board may be stuck and require replacement.
