Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Food debris in drain trough, Insufficient door seal causing excess frost
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before defrosting. Do not chip ice with sharp tools.
- Remove ice: Take out drawers and chip away loose ice with a plastic scraper. Use towels to absorb meltwater.
- Access drain: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and drain trough.
- Clear blockage: Pour warm (not boiling) water into the drain hole using a turkey baster until water flows freely into the drain pan.
- Clean trough: Remove any food particles or debris from the drain trough.
- Check gasket: Inspect and clean the door gasket to reduce frost formation that can overwhelm the drain.
