Possible Causes
Failed condenser fan motor, Obstruction in fan blades, Open fan wiring, Faulty control board fan output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the freezer before accessing the rear compartment. The compressor and lines may be hot.
- Step 1 – Inspect fan: Remove the rear access panel. Check if the condenser fan blade is blocked by debris. Clear any obstruction.
- Step 2 – Spin test: With power off, spin the fan by hand. If stiff or seized, replace the condenser fan motor.
- Step 3 – Electrical test: Check for voltage at the fan motor terminals when the compressor is running (advanced). If voltage is present but fan does not run, replace the motor. If no voltage, suspect the control board.
