Possible Causes

Recent household power outage, Freezer unplugged and replugged, Tripped circuit breaker, Loose power cord connection at outlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Always keep hands dry when working around electrical outlets. Do not open electrical panels unless you are qualified.

This indicator is normal after a power interruption and is not usually a component failure.

  • Step 1 – Verify power is stable: Check that other appliances on the same circuit are working. Reset the household breaker if it has tripped.
  • Step 2 – Confirm proper outlet connection: Make sure the Gladiator freezer’s power cord is fully inserted into a grounded 3‑prong outlet. Avoid extension cords or power strips.
  • Step 3 – Clear the PO indicator: On most Gladiator electronic controls, press and hold the Alarm Reset or Power Outage button (or the Temp Up and Temp Down buttons together) for 3–5 seconds until the indicator turns off. Refer to the user manual for the exact button combination.
  • Step 4 – Check temperature: Place a freezer thermometer inside and verify that temperature returns to 0°F (-18°C) within several hours. If temperature does not recover, further cooling diagnostics are needed.
