Freezer is too cold; items are rock hard and ice cream is overly hard even at higher settings.

Safety First: Unplug the freezer before accessing the control housing or wiring.

• Step 1 – Adjust temperature: Raise the temperature setting one or two steps warmer and wait 24 hours. If no change, continue.
• Step 2 – Mechanical thermostat test: On dial models, turn the cold control thermostat to OFF. If the compressor continues to run, the thermostat is stuck and must be replaced.
• Step 3 – Electronic models: If the display responds but temperature remains too low, suspect a bad thermistor or control board. Testing requires a multimeter and the tech sheet; replace the faulty component.
