Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coils, Weak door gasket seal, Failed evaporator fan motor, Low refrigerant charge or sealed system leak
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or accessing fans. Do not puncture any refrigerant lines.
- Step 1 – Check temperature setting: Confirm the control is set to the recommended 0°F (-18°C) or colder.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser coils: Pull the Gladiator freezer away from the wall. Vacuum dust and debris from the condenser coils and grille. Use a coil brush if needed.
- Step 3 – Inspect door gasket: Close a sheet of paper in the door at several points. If it pulls out easily, the door gasket may be leaking and should be replaced or adjusted.
- Step 4 – Verify evaporator fan: Open the door and press the door switch; you should hear the evaporator fan motor running. If not, inspect and replace the fan motor.
- Step 5 – Look for frost pattern: Remove the interior rear panel and inspect the evaporator coil. A partial frost pattern or only one corner frosted often indicates a sealed system problem requiring a certified technician.
