Possible Causes
Failed microcontroller on main PCB, Power supply section failure on PCB, Corrupted firmware, Shorted component on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer. The control board area may have exposed mains voltage terminals—do not touch while energized.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for at least 10 minutes to discharge capacitors. Plug back in and check if E6 clears. If it returns, proceed.
- Access main PCB: Remove the rear lower service panel or side panel (model dependent) to expose the main control board enclosure.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt components, bulging capacitors, or darkened areas on the PCB. Check for insect infestation or corrosion.
- Check connectors: Reseat all harness connectors firmly. Ensure the ground wire is secure to the chassis.
- Measure supply voltage: With the unit plugged in (only if you are trained and equipped), verify correct AC input to the board and correct low-voltage DC outputs. If voltages are missing or unstable, the board is defective.
- Replace board: If E6 persists and no external wiring faults are found, replace the main control PCB with the exact Haier part number. Transfer any jumper settings or wiring positions exactly as original.
