Haier Normal Pressure Equalization / Check Valve Issue

Freezer door difficult to open immediately after closing, feels like a vacuum.

Possible Causes

Normal cooling-induced vacuum, Blocked cabinet pressure equalization port, Door gasket sealing too tightly

Safety first: This is usually a normal condition and not a safety issue.

Wait a moment: After closing the door, wait 30–60 seconds before reopening to allow internal pressure to equalize.
Check vent: Some Haier freezers have a small pressure equalization vent. Ensure it is not blocked by packaging or ice.
Gasket lubrication: Lightly wipe the gasket with a thin film of petroleum jelly to reduce sticking if it is excessively tight.
