Possible Causes
Clogged defrost drain, Cracked drain tube, Excessive door openings causing condensation, Freezer not level causing water to spill over
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer and mop up any standing water to prevent slips.
- Check defrost drain: On frost-free Haier freezers, remove the inner rear panel and locate the drain hole beneath the evaporator. Clear ice and debris using warm water and a turkey baster or squeeze bottle.
- Inspect drain tube: From the rear or bottom, locate the drain tube leading to the drain pan. Ensure it is not kinked, disconnected, or cracked. Replace if damaged.
- Verify drain pan: Confirm the drain pan above the compressor is properly positioned and not overflowing. Clean if dirty.
- Leveling: Adjust the freezer so it is slightly tilted back to encourage water to flow to the drain.
