Safety first: Unplug the Hisense freezer from the wall outlet before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect. If E1 clears temporarily and returns, continue below.
- Locate the cabinet sensor: On most Hisense freezers, the cabinet temperature sensor (NTC) is clipped to the evaporator cover or mounted on the liner wall behind a small plastic cover inside the freezer compartment.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the inner panel/cover carefully. Check the sensor wires for cuts, pinches, or signs of ice damage. Ensure the plug is fully seated in the connector.
- Check sensor resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor from the harness. Use a multimeter set to kΩ. At room temperature (~25°C), most Hisense NTC sensors read around 5–10 kΩ (exact value may vary). If the sensor is open (OL) or shorted (near 0 Ω), it is faulty.
- Replace the sensor: If readings are out of range, replace the cabinet NTC sensor with a Hisense-compatible part. Route the new sensor along the original path and secure it with clips or tape to avoid contact with moving parts or sharp edges.
- Check PCB connection: If the sensor tests good, access the main control board (usually behind a rear lower panel). Reseat the sensor connector on the PCB and inspect for corrosion or burnt spots. If the board is damaged, it may need replacement.
If E1 persists after sensor replacement and wiring checks, contact a qualified technician to test the main control board.
