Ambient / Room Temperature Sensor Failure
Freezer shows E3; compressor may not start or may short-cycle.

Possible Causes
Defective ambient NTC sensor, Sensor dislodged from its mounting near control panel, Damaged harness between sensor and PCB, Faulty main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before opening any control covers.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Hisense freezers, the ambient sensor is near the front control panel or behind the front grille, sensing room temperature.
- Inspect sensor and wiring: Remove the control panel cover or front trim. Look for a small probe-type sensor or plastic-encased NTC. Check for broken insulation, loose connectors, or corrosion.
- Test resistance: With the freezer unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to typical NTC values (often 5–10 kΩ at ~25°C). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of spec.
- Secure mounting: Ensure the sensor is positioned where it can sense room air, not touching hot components or metal surfaces.
- Reconnect and test: Install a new Hisense-compatible ambient sensor if needed, reconnect to the PCB, restore power, and check if E3 clears.
If E3 persists with a known-good sensor, the main control board may require replacement by a professional.
