Possible Causes

Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Broken fan wiring harness, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before working inside the cabinet.

  • Listen for fan operation: With the door switch held closed (or taped down) and the unit powered, the evaporator fan should run when the compressor is on. If silent, proceed with checks (after unplugging).
  • Access fan assembly: Remove baskets and the inner rear panel to expose the evaporator and fan shroud.
  • Check for ice blockage: Look for heavy frost or ice around the fan blades. If present, fully defrost the freezer (unplug, doors open, towels in place) until all ice is gone, then test again.
  • Inspect fan blades and motor: Spin the fan by hand; it should turn freely without grinding. If seized or very stiff, the motor is likely bad.
  • Test fan motor: Disconnect the fan connector and measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Compare to service specs if available.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the fan to the main PCB for damage or loose connectors.
  • Replace fan motor: Install a Hisense-compatible evaporator fan motor and reassemble the shroud and rear panel. Ensure wires are routed away from blades.

If the fan tests good but E7 remains, the main control board may not be supplying power to the fan and should be checked by a technician.
