Possible Causes

Loose ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Moisture ingress into control panel, Failed touchpad or display PCB, Faulty main control board communication circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel.

  • Inspect control panel: Check for signs of condensation, liquid spills, or physical damage on the front display/touch area.
  • Access UI board: Remove screws or clips holding the front control panel. Carefully pull it forward to expose the user interface PCB and ribbon cable.
  • Check connections: Reseat the ribbon cable or harness connectors between the UI and main board. Ensure they are fully inserted and not corroded.
  • Dry moisture: If moisture is present, gently dry the area with a soft cloth and allow the panel to air dry completely before reassembly.
  • Inspect for damage: Look for burnt components or cracked solder joints on the UI PCB. If damaged, replace the UI board with a Hisense-compatible part.
  • Test after reassembly: Reinstall the panel, restore power, and check if E8 clears and controls respond normally.

If E8 persists with a new UI board and good connections, the main control board may have a communication fault and should be evaluated by a technician.
