Possible Causes

Normal cooling contraction of air, Blocked cabinet pressure equalization port, Gasket sticking to cabinet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not force the door open with tools; you may damage the gasket or cabinet.

  • Wait briefly: It is normal for the door to be harder to open for 30–60 seconds after closing as the air cools and contracts. Wait a minute and try again.
  • Check gasket stickiness: Clean the gasket and cabinet mating surface with mild soapy water and dry. Lightly dust with a small amount of food-safe talc if it is sticking.
  • Inspect vent: Some models have a small pressure equalization vent. Ensure it is not blocked by packaging or debris.

If the door remains extremely difficult to open after several minutes, the gasket may be misaligned or the vent blocked; adjust or replace as needed.
