Possible Causes
Faulty temperature sensor, Loose sensor connector at PCB, Control board miscalibration, Electrical noise or interference
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before handling wiring or the control board.
- Confirm actual temperature: Place a thermometer inside the freezer. If temperature is within normal range (-18°C / 0°F), the alarm is likely false.
- Inspect sensor wiring: Access the cabinet sensor and its connector at the main PCB. Reseat connectors and check for corrosion or loose pins.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the sensor and compare to expected values. Replace if out of range.
- Power reset: Unplug for 10 minutes, then reconnect to clear any temporary control glitches.
- Replace control if needed: If a new sensor does not resolve the false alarm, the main control board may be misreading inputs and require replacement.
Persistent false alarms with normal temperature should be addressed to avoid ignoring future genuine alarms.
