Freezer displays E2 and alarm beeps intermittently

Safety first: Unplug the freezer if removing door components.

• Check door closure: Ensure nothing is blocking the door from closing fully, such as protruding food packages or shelves.
• Inspect gasket: Look for twisted or damaged gasket sections that prevent a tight seal. Warm and reshape minor distortions with a hair dryer on low.
• Test door sensor: See the door switch fault section (Fb) for testing procedures.
• Adjust leveling: Make sure the freezer is level or slightly tilted back so the door closes by itself.
• Replace sensor: If the door sensor is faulty, install a new Hitachi door switch or magnetic sensor.
