How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel.
- Inspect control panel surface: Check for visible cracks, liquid spills, or condensation around the touch keys.
- Dry the panel: If moisture is suspected, leave the unit unplugged with the door open for several hours to allow drying. Do not use direct heat.
- Remove and inspect panel: Carefully remove the front control panel. Check the ribbon cable for kinks, corrosion, or partial insertion into the connector.
- Clean contacts: Use electronic contact cleaner on the ribbon cable contacts and connector if corrosion is present.
- Reconnect firmly: Reseat the ribbon cable fully and ensure it is locked in place.
- Replace panel: If keys remain unresponsive or FA persists, replace the Hitachi touch control/display PCB assembly.
