Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, Power surge damage, Faulty main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control board.
- Power cycle: Unplug the freezer for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge and the control to fully reset.
- Check power quality: Ensure the freezer is connected directly to a properly grounded outlet, not through a low-quality extension cord or power strip.
- Inspect main control PCB: Look for visible damage such as burnt components or corrosion.
- Replace main control PCB: If H5 persists after reset and there is no visible wiring issue, replace the Hitachi main control PCB, which includes the EEPROM.
