Possible Causes
Aged or brittle gasket, Physical damage from cleaning tools, Incorrect door alignment, Gasket pulled from retaining channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer if you need to remove the door or work extensively around the seal.
- Inspect gasket: Run your hand around the seal to feel for gaps, tears, or hardened sections.
- Reseat gasket: On some Hoover models, the gasket pushes into a retaining channel. Press it firmly back into place all around.
- Warm and reshape: Use a hairdryer on low heat to gently warm and soften a deformed gasket, then mold it to the cabinet shape. Do not overheat.
- Replace gasket: If torn or badly deformed, remove the old gasket (unscrew or pull from channel) and fit a new door gasket designed for your Hoover model. Start at the corners and work evenly around.
