E7 error, alarm beeping, freezer may be too warm or too cold intermittently.

Possible Causes
Faulty magnetic door switch, Misaligned door switch actuator, Broken door switch wiring in cabinet, Failed door sensor input on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing trims or panels around the door area.
- Locate the door switch: On upright Hoover freezers, the door switch is usually in the cabinet frame near the top; on chest freezers, it may be in the hinge area or under the top lip.
- Check operation: Press the switch plunger by hand (or close the door) and listen for the interior light turning off/on. If the light stays on or off regardless of switch position, suspect the switch.
- Inspect for damage: Remove the switch from the cabinet (usually clipped or held by one screw). Check for broken plastic, corrosion, or loose terminals.
- Test with a multimeter: With the freezer unplugged, measure continuity across the switch terminals while pressing and releasing the plunger. It should change from open to closed. If not, the switch is faulty.
- Check wiring: Gently pull some wire out of the cavity and inspect for breaks or crushed insulation, especially near the hinge area.
- Replace the switch: Install a new door switch / lid switch compatible with your Hoover freezer. Connect wires firmly and refit the switch into the cabinet.
- Test: Restore power, open and close the door to confirm the interior light and alarm behave correctly and the E7 code clears.
Technician tip: If the switch and wiring are good but E7 persists, the main PCB door-sensor input may be defective and require professional diagnosis.
