Possible Causes
Extended power outage, Door left ajar for several hours, Excessive warm food load, Poor ventilation around condenser
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal repair is usually needed. Do not open the freezer more than necessary while temperature is recovering.
- Check cause: Confirm whether there was a recent power cut or the door was left open. Correct any user-related issues.
- Ventilation: Ensure there is adequate space around the freezer (typically at least 5 cm at sides and rear) and that the condenser area is not blocked by dust.
- Reset alarm: Press and hold the alarm or reset button as described in your Hoover manual to clear the H2 indication.
- Monitor temperature: Use a thermometer to ensure the freezer returns to -18 °C within 24 hours. If it does not, investigate cooling performance issues.
Note: H2 itself is not a hardware fault but a warning. Persistent high temperature after clearing the alarm indicates an underlying cooling or sealing problem.
