Possible Causes
Faulty mechanical thermostat stuck on, Defective electronic temperature sensor, Main PCB not responding to temperature feedback, Thermostat sensing bulb dislodged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing the control housing.
- Verify settings: Ensure the temperature is not set to the coldest or fast-freeze mode permanently.
- Check thermostat (mechanical models): Locate the thermostat behind the control knob. Turn the knob from coldest to warmest and listen for a click. No click may indicate a stuck thermostat.
- Inspect sensing bulb: On mechanical models, ensure the capillary sensing bulb is correctly positioned against the evaporator or in its channel, not hanging loose.
- Test thermostat continuity: With the freezer unplugged, remove the thermostat and test continuity across its terminals while adjusting the knob. Replace if it remains closed regardless of setting.
- Electronic models: If using sensors and PCB, follow the temperature sensor tests (E1/E2) and replace the cabinet NTC sensor if readings are incorrect.
