Possible Causes
Compressor mounting rubbers worn or displaced, Condenser tubing touching cabinet, Loose rear panel or components, Faulty condenser fan motor bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before adjusting components at the rear.
- Level the appliance: Ensure the freezer is level front-to-back and side-to-side using the adjustable feet. An unlevel cabinet can increase vibration.
- Check compressor mounts: Remove the rear panel and inspect the rubber grommets under the compressor feet. Replace if perished or missing.
- Secure tubing: Gently move condenser and refrigerant pipes away from the cabinet or each other if they are touching and rattling. Use foam pads or clips as originally fitted.
- Inspect condenser fan: If fitted, spin the fan by hand and listen for grinding. Replace the condenser fan motor if noisy.
- Refit rear panel: Tighten all screws and ensure the panel is not vibrating.
