Possible Causes

Low refrigerant charge from small leak, Partially blocked capillary tube, Inefficient or worn compressor, Condenser coil heavily clogged with dust

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before cleaning or removing panels. Do not pierce or bend refrigerant pipes.

  • Clean condenser: Pull the freezer away from the wall and clean the rear condenser coil thoroughly with a brush and vacuum. Ensure good airflow around the unit.
  • Check door gasket: Inspect the door seal for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Close a sheet of paper in the door at various points; it should grip firmly.
  • Check frost pattern: Remove the internal rear panel and observe the evaporator after 15–20 minutes of running. An even frost across most of the coil is normal; frost only on a small section suggests a sealed-system issue.
  • Monitor temperature: After cleaning and checking seals, allow 24 hours. If the freezer still cannot reach -18 °C, a refrigerant or compressor problem is likely.

Important: Low gas or a blocked capillary must be repaired by a certified refrigeration technician. Do not attempt to recharge the system yourself.
