Possible Causes
Blown household fuse or tripped breaker, Faulty mains cable, Defective mains filter / interference suppressor, Failed main control board power section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Before opening the appliance, verify the household electrical supply. Always unplug before internal checks.
- Check outlet and fuse: Test the wall socket with another appliance. Check and replace the plug fuse if blown (UK models).
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. If damaged, replace the entire mains cable.
- Check mains filter: Access the area where the power cord enters the freezer. Many Hoover models use a mains filter module. Inspect for burning or cracking and replace if damaged.
- PCB inspection: If the mains filter is good, inspect the main PCB for burnt components in the power supply section. A failed board will usually require replacement.
