Ice build-up on the bottom of the freezer compartment.

Safety: Unplug the freezer and remove food to a cool box while defrosting.

• Manual defrost: Allow the freezer to defrost fully with the door open. Place towels to absorb water. Do not use sharp tools to remove ice.
• Clear drain: Once ice has melted, clear the drain hole and flush with warm water as described in the drain blockage fix.
• Check drain heater (if fitted): Some Hoover models have a small heater near the drain. Inspect for damage and continuity; replace if open.
• Check door gasket: Repair or replace a damaged gasket to reduce warm air ingress.
