Possible Causes
Stuck compressor relay on control board, Shorted temperature sensor, Incorrect temperature setting, Faulty user interface
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before accessing controls or sensors.
Steps:
- 1. Check temperature setting: Ensure the control is not set to the coldest or fast-freeze mode. Adjust to recommended setting.
- 2. Reset control: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and observe operation.
- 3. Test temperature sensor: Measure resistance of the freezer NTC sensor; a shorted sensor will read very low resistance and cause overcooling. Replace if out of spec.
- 4. Inspect control board: If the sensor is good, the compressor relay may be stuck closed. Replace the main control board if the compressor runs continuously regardless of temperature.
