Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main PCB keeping compressor on, Shorted temperature sensor, Incorrect thermostat setting, Faulty control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Avoid prolonged contact with very cold surfaces to prevent skin injury.
Basic checks:
- Verify the temperature setting is not at maximum cold or in Super Freeze mode. Adjust to a normal setting and wait several hours.
- Check if the compressor runs almost continuously without cycling off.
Sensor and control checks:
- If an NTC sensor is shorted, the control may think the freezer is warm and overrun the compressor. Test cabinet and evaporator sensors as described in other entries.
- If sensors are normal, the compressor relay on the main PCB may be stuck closed. Inspect the board for welded relay contacts or burn marks.
Repair:
- Replace any faulty NTC sensor with the correct Indesit part.
- If the relay is stuck or the board is damaged, replace the main control board.
