Possible Causes
Failed evaporator fan motor, Ice obstruction around fan blades, Broken fan wiring, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the freezer from mains before accessing internal panels.
Access the evaporator fan:
- Remove drawers and the internal rear panel to expose the evaporator and fan assembly.
- Locate the fan motor and blades, usually mounted above or in front of the evaporator.
Inspection:
- Check for heavy ice buildup around the fan. If present, fully defrost the area using a bowl of hot water placed inside the compartment (door closed) or a hairdryer on low, keeping it away from plastic parts.
- Spin the fan blades by hand; they should rotate freely without scraping.
- Inspect the fan wiring and connector for damage or loose contacts.
Testing and repair:
- With the fan disconnected, measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- If the motor is faulty, replace the evaporator fan motor with the correct Indesit part, transferring the fan blade if necessary.
- Ensure the fan shroud and wiring are reinstalled so that airflow is not obstructed.
