Possible Causes

Damaged communication cable, Loose connectors at either board, Electrical noise or surge damage, Incompatible replacement board combination

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the freezer from mains.

Check communication harness:

  • Access both the display board (front/top) and the main PCB (rear lower).
  • Trace the communication harness between them, looking for pinched or cut sections.
  • Unplug and replug the connectors at both ends, ensuring they latch securely.

Inspection:

  • Look for corrosion on connector pins, especially if the appliance is in a damp location.
  • Check that any shielding or grounding for the cable is intact.

Repair:

  • Replace a damaged harness with the correct Indesit cable assembly.
  • If the harness is good but F12 persists, one of the boards (display or main PCB) may be defective and require replacement. Replace one at a time, starting with the more obviously damaged or cheaper board.
