Freezer exterior sides or top feel very hot to the touch during operation.

Safety first: Surfaces may be hot but should not cause burns. If you smell burning plastic or see smoke, unplug immediately.

Steps:

• Improve ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance around the freezer per Insignia specifications (typically several inches on sides and back).
• Clean condenser: If your model has exposed condenser coils, clean them thoroughly.
• Check ambient temperature: Do not operate the freezer in very hot rooms beyond the rated ambient temperature range.

Note: Some warmth on the cabinet sides is normal, especially near the door seal area where anti-sweat heaters or condenser loops may run.
